Dubai-based airline Emirates has signed an agreement with Airbus to implement the Skywise Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+) predictive maintenance and fleet health monitoring system along with the Core X3 analytics platform.
The deal was signed by Ahmed Safa, Head of Emirates Engineering, and Laurent Negre, Vice President, Customer Services Airbus Africa and Middle East.
The integration of Airbus’s cutting-edge S.FP+ solution aims to boost aircraft dispatch reliability and facilitate data-driven decision-making for Emirates’ Airbus A380 and A350 fleet. The platform enables real-time aircraft performance monitoring, early issue detection, and predictive maintenance planning.
“As a highly efficient, customer-centric operation, Emirates continually seeks innovative solutions to enhance operational reliability and punctuality while ensuring optimal fleet performance,”
said Ahmed Safa.
“The adoption of Skywise Fleet Performance+ allows us to leverage advanced analytics, transforming traditional maintenance into streamlined, precision-led processes.”
Laurent Negre echoed this sentiment, stating,
“We are proud to strengthen our collaboration with Emirates. These solutions will enhance fleet performance, reduce downtime, and contribute to a smoother passenger experience.”
The S.FP+ system provides automated pre-departure monitoring, predictive diagnostics, and real-time alerts. The integration of the Core X3 analytics platform will further enhance Emirates Engineering’s ability to manage extensive data streams, ensuring operational efficiency.
Emirates Engineering, one of the most advanced aircraft maintenance facilities globally, continues to invest in aviation analytics and digital solutions to optimize fleet availability. The airline is also exploring innovations such as drone-assisted aircraft inspections and virtual reality applications for maintenance tasks.
In 2023, Emirates announced a US$950 million investment in a new ultra-modern engineering facility at Dubai World Central, set to become the largest of its kind in the Middle East, reinforcing Dubai’s standing as a global aviation hub.
