Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Crypto.com to explore integrating cryptocurrency payments into its systems, marking a significant step in the airline’s push toward digital innovation. The integration is expected to roll out next year.
The agreement, signed in the presence of Emirates Group Chairman His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, underscores the airline’s aim to meet evolving customer preferences and tap into younger, tech-savvy audiences who favour digital currencies.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, described the move as part of the airline’s broader commitment to flexibility, innovation, and supporting Dubai’s ambition to lead in the global digital finance space.
Crypto.com President and COO Eric Anziani said the partnership with Emirates adds momentum to real-world crypto use cases and helps expand the digital asset ecosystem in the region.
Beyond payment integration, the two companies will explore joint marketing campaigns to raise awareness and encourage adoption of the new payment option.
The partnership aligns with Dubai’s growing status as a global crypto hub, supported by forward-thinking regulations and increasing merchant adoption of digital currencies across sectors.
