Emirates Partners with Malta Tourism Authority to Boost Inbound Tourism

Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malta Tourism Authority to promote inbound tourism and strengthen the island's appeal as a premier Mediterranean destination.

The agreement, formalized at ITB Berlin, was signed by Thierry Aucoc, Emirates’ Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations (West Europe and Americas), and Carlo Micallef, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority.

This strategic alliance will see Emirates utilizing its vast global network to market Malta, emphasizing the island's unique offerings. Key initiatives will include media familiarisation trips for top markets, designed to showcase Malta as a sought-after leisure gateway. Additionally, both parties will collaborate on joint advertising campaigns and promotional packages with tour operators and travel agents.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, expressed that the partnership reflects the airline’s ongoing support for Malta, which has been a prominent destination in its European network for over 20 years.

"This agreement reinforces our commitment to boosting Malta's tourism industry and increasing inbound travel,"

he said.

Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Hon. Ian Borg, also highlighted the partnership’s importance in further enhancing ties between Malta and Emirates, enabling broader outreach to global travelers.

To date, Emirates has transported over 1.2 million passengers between Dubai and Malta, underscoring the growing popularity of the island as a must-visit destination.
