Emirates is urging passengers to brace for one of the busiest travel periods of the year as Dubai enters peak tourist season and schools remain closed for most of December.

The airline expects more than 2.3 million departures over the coming weekends along with over 2.5 million arrivals, signalling exceptional demand across its network.

The surge coincides with a packed events calendar in Dubai and recent adjustments to the KHDA school schedule, which have extended holidays for many families. Emirates noted that the combination is likely to create heavier traffic on routes to the airport and increase pressure on terminal facilities, parking areas, and check-in zones.

To help ease congestion, the airline is advising customers to plan ahead and allow extra time before their flights. Emirates also highlighted a range of tools designed to support smoother journeys, including online check-in and the Emirates App, which offers real-time updates and access to biometric registration for faster movement through the airport.

The airline says these steps will be especially valuable throughout December as passenger volumes continue to climb and the city prepares for its busiest festive travel season in recent years.
