Emirates SkyCargo is closing the year with a clear and confident roadmap for growth in 2026, following a period of major investment across its fleet, network, digital platforms, and product portfolio.

The cargo arm of Emirates Airline says the groundwork laid in 2025 positions it to scale capacity, expand reach, and deliver greater value across global supply chains.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, said the past year focused on strengthening the airline’s core pillars to meet evolving customer needs. He confirmed that up to 10 Boeing 777 freighters are expected to join the fleet by December 2026, unlocking new opportunities for network expansion and operational flexibility.

During 2025, Emirates SkyCargo took delivery of three Boeing 777Fs, retired older aircraft, and advanced passenger aircraft conversions ahead of freighter operations planned for 2026. By the end of next year, the airline aims to operate at least 21 freighters, significantly boosting cargo capacity.

Network growth remained a priority, with new freighter services launched to eight destinations including Copenhagen, Narita, Mumbai, and Hanoi. Additional frequencies were added on high-demand routes, bringing the freighter network to 42 destinations across six continents. Strategic partnerships also expanded, with new interline agreements strengthening connectivity in Africa and Southeast Asia.

Operational investments included upgrades to the airline’s trucking fleet, progress toward hydrogen-powered vehicles, and collaboration on future VTOL cargo solutions. Digital adoption continued to accelerate, with nearly 80 percent of shipments booked online by year-end.

New products such as Emirates Courier Express, aerospace logistics services, and specialised solutions for perishables, pharmaceuticals, and high-value electronics supported strong volume growth. Looking ahead, Emirates SkyCargo plans to double capacity, add 20 new freighter destinations, and advance its digital-first strategy as it enters its next phase of expansion.
