Emirates SkyCargo has added Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to its freighter network, strengthening the airline’s growing operations across East and Southeast Asia.
The weekly service offers customers in the region greater flexibility to move goods worldwide through Dubai.
The addition of Bangkok brings Emirates SkyCargo’s dedicated freighter network to 43 global destinations, including 11 in East and Southeast Asia. The expansion reflects the airline’s strategy to tap into the region’s booming trade activity and enhance its global logistics reach.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, said East and Southeast Asia remain central to the company’s growth plans through 2026 and beyond, citing the region’s strong manufacturing base and rising demand for efficient cargo movement.
In response to increasing demand, Emirates SkyCargo has also expanded services in other key Asian markets. The airline now operates four weekly freighters in and out of Hanoi, with direct connections to Dubai and Taipei, and has introduced a sixth weekly freighter to Guangzhou to support surging exports of consumer technology, electrical goods, and eCommerce shipments.
Over three decades of steady growth, Emirates SkyCargo has built one of the most extensive operations in Asia, serving 25 gateways with 45 freighter services, 13 charter flights, and 315 passenger services weekly. The network provides a total cargo capacity of 21,000 tonnes each week, underscoring the airline’s pivotal role in connecting Asia’s trade hubs to global markets.
