Emirates SkyCargo will double its freighter fleet from 10 to 21 aircraft by the end of 2026, signalling strong confidence in the long-term growth of global air cargo demand.

Speaking at the IATA World Cargo Symposium 2025 in Dubai, Nabil Sultan, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, confirmed the addition of 11 Boeing 777Fs to the fleet over the next two years. The move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to invest in advanced technology, infrastructure, and specialised logistics for pharmaceuticals, perishables, and high-value cargo.

Sultan said Emirates SkyCargo's dedicated freighter network currently serves 38 destinations, with plans to add 20 more. This year, the airline launched new cargo routes to Japan and Copenhagen, further strengthening its reach.

The Emirates fleet now stands at 260 aircraft, including 250 passenger planes. That number is expected to exceed 300 by 2030. The airline’s overall network spans 148 destinations, supported by global partnerships.

On future logistics infrastructure, Sultan highlighted Dubai’s major investment in Al Maktoum International Airport, which is being developed into the world’s largest cargo hub with a 12-million-tonne handling capacity. Emirates SkyCargo aims to play a central role in this transformation.

Sultan also spotlighted “Emirates Delivers,” a new door-to-door express service for businesses, currently active in seven markets, with expansion planned across all Emirates SkyCargo destinations. The service is designed to mirror the Emirates passenger experience in terms of speed and reliability.

Despite global challenges, Sultan affirmed the airline’s adaptability and long-term commitment.

“We view challenges as opportunities to innovate. The future of air cargo is strong, and Emirates is ready to lead,”

he said.
