Emirates SkyCargo, in partnership with Allied Transport Company, will integrate hydrogen-powered trucks into its domestic fleet by Q1 2026—marking a significant step toward greener ground operations.

Currently in production, the five new trucks will join Emirates SkyCargo’s existing fleet of over 60 vehicles that connect Dubai International Airport (DXB), Dubai World Central (DWC), and other domestic locations. These trucks are designed to match the performance of the airline's current diesel-powered models, with each capable of transporting up to 28 tonnes of cargo and covering up to 700 kilometers on a full hydrogen tank.

The vehicles will refuel at dedicated hydrogen stations located in Expo City and Al Qudra’s DEWA facility. Beyond maintaining operational efficiency, this transition is expected to cut CO2 emissions and enhance air quality across the network.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, called the move “an exciting development” in the airline’s strategy to reduce emissions in ground operations.

“We will continue to explore alternative fuels and technologies that lower our environmental footprint without compromising service standards,” he said.

Ali Bin Beyat, CEO of Allied Transport Company, added,

“This initiative aligns with Emirates SkyCargo’s sustainability goals and supports the UAE’s vision for a greener future.”

The addition of hydrogen-powered trucks underscores Emirates SkyCargo’s broader commitment to sustainable logistics, positioning the carrier as a regional leader in environmentally responsible transport solutions.
