Emirates SkyCargo has become the first in the region to introduce long-haul, heavy commercial Euro 6 trucks, marking a major step toward cleaner and smarter logistics operations.
In partnership with Allied Transport Company, the cargo arm of Emirates replaced 40 of its trucks with the latest MAN Euro 6 models, equipped with advanced emission and safety technologies.
The upgrade is expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions from the airline’s ground operations by 17 percent. The Euro 6 engines meet the highest global emission standards, significantly cutting harmful pollutants compared to previous models.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, said the move reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability and readiness for future growth driven by Dubai’s Economic Agenda.
“We are investing in future-ready technology that will fuel our next era of growth,”
he said.
Beyond lowering emissions, the new fleet enhances safety and operational efficiency. Each truck features reverse cameras, kerb mirrors, and AI-powered driver monitoring systems that detect distraction or fatigue. Dual camera coverage, GPS, and cloud tracking enable real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
Allied Transport CEO Ali Bin Beyat said the collaboration highlights a shared vision for innovation and environmental responsibility in regional logistics.
Emirates SkyCargo’s truck fleet plays a vital role in moving more than 1,000 tonnes of cargo daily between Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) airports. The introduction of Euro 6 trucks is set to enhance efficiency across the 77-kilometer bonded corridor and strengthen the airline’s position as a global logistics leader.
