Emirates’ Unaccompanied Minors Service Gears Up for High-Demand Season
Emirates is currently in one of its busiest periods for the Unaccompanied Minors Service as children return to Dubai for the new school year. Over the next week alone, Emirates will welcome more than 900 young travelers flying solo using this highly regarded service.
In the past five years, more than 120,000 children have used Emirates’ Unaccompanied Minors and Young Passenger services, with most travelers being 11 years old or younger. British, Indian, American, Filipino, and French families are among the top users of this service, which ensures that young flyers are cared for and entertained from check‑in to their destination.
What Emirates’ Unaccompanied Minors Service Offers:
- A Relaxing Start: Children begin their journey in the Unaccompanied Minors Lounge at Dubai International Airport (DXB), where they can enjoy video games, free Wi‑Fi, and complimentary snacks in a safe, supervised environment.
- Dedicated Support: A trained Emirates specialist accompanies the child throughout their airport experience, ensuring a smooth process through security, priority boarding, and a comfortable handover to the cabin crew.
- Fun and Entertainment Onboard: Once on the plane, children can enjoy a variety of entertainment options, including movies, video games, and toys. For birthdays, parents can arrange a cake to be served onboard, with special moments captured by the cabin crew.
- Safe Arrival: Upon landing, another Emirates specialist greets the child at the aircraft door, accompanying them through the airport until they reunite with their parent or guardian at Arrivals.
Support for Older Children and Teens:
Parents of children aged 12 to 15 years old can opt for additional support with Emirates’ Unaccompanied Minors Service for an extra fee. This service provides the same level of care and supervision as for younger children, ensuring a stress-free journey.

For young travelers with connecting flights, Emirates ensures their safety with strict protocols, including a maximum 8-hour connection time and supervised stays in the Unaccompanied Minors Lounge.
