Emirates has introduced a wide range of accessibility-focused services and products aimed at making air travel more inclusive, unveiled at the 7th edition of the AccessAbilities Expo in Dubai World Trade Centre.
The new initiatives reflect the airline’s ongoing commitment to empowering passengers with disabilities to travel comfortably and confidently.
A key highlight is the launch of the Accessible & Inclusive Travel Hub on emirates.com, a dedicated online platform offering tailored information for travelers with varying accessibility needs. The hub allows users to explore services based on disability type or journey stage, and includes features such as autism-friendly guides, airport sensory maps, and information on medical and mobility assistance.
From November 1, Emirates will also introduce sensory products and fidget toys onboard to support neurodivergent passengers and nervous flyers. Additionally, a redesigned Business Class mattress with an integrated hood will enhance comfort for travelers with limited mobility.
Emirates’ inflight entertainment system, ice, now features over 600 films with closed captions and 200 with audio descriptions. A new user interface on the Airbus A350-900 was developed in collaboration with accessibility advocates to improve usability for visually impaired passengers.
On the ground, Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 now includes barrier-free smart corridors and enhanced self-service kiosks with tactile and audio features. Emirates has also introduced a prototype of its accessible Chauffeur Drive vehicle, with a fleet expansion planned by early 2026.
These developments follow Emirates’ recognition as the world’s first Autism Certified Airline in 2025. With over 35,000 staff trained in accessibility support, the airline continues to lead the way in inclusive aviation through innovation, empathy, and design focused on dignity and independence for all travelers.
