Emirates, the world's largest international airline, has inaugurated a luxurious new lounge at London Stansted Airport, marking a significant investment of over GBP 4 million.
Spanning 900 square meters, the expansive lounge accommodates up to 125 guests, including First and Business Class passengers and Emirates Skywards members.
The Stansted lounge, Emirates’ sixth dedicated facility in the UK, complements its existing lounges at London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Manchester. This expansion enhances the airline’s premium on-ground offerings, providing a sophisticated space for travelers to relax and enjoy elevated dining before their flights.
Mohammed Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services at Emirates, emphasized the significance of the new lounge, stating,
"The new lounge is a testament to our brand promise of always flying customers better – in the air and on-ground. It marks a major milestone, reflecting our commitment to the UK market."
Located in Satellite 1, the lounge features modern furnishings, dedicated dining areas, and a broad selection of food and beverages. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, refreshing shower facilities, and a short 2–3-minute walk to the aircraft.
In a bid to showcase British excellence, Emirates has partnered with Full Circles Farms from Sussex to offer a “farm to table” dining experience, featuring seasonal menus with organic vegetables and local dishes. The lounge also boasts premium spirits, fine wines, and Moet & Chandon champagnes.
Gareth Powell, Managing Director at Stansted Airport, praised the new facility, noting its luxury and convenience. Emirates continues to bolster its UK connections, operating 133 weekly flights, including a double-daily Boeing 777 service to Stansted. The airline’s extensive network of over 140 destinations ensures global connectivity for travelers.
