Emirates Airlines has rolled out its first fully refurbished Boeing 777, which is set to take off to Geneva today as EK 83.

This aircraft marks the first in a series of 80 Boeing 777s to receive a comprehensive cabin refresh, a project completed in 37 days and ahead of the originally scheduled deployment.

The new interiors include an upgraded Business Class cabin with 38 ergonomic seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, offering direct aisle access, personal mini-bars, multiple charging outlets, and 23-inch HD screens. The Premium Economy cabin, featuring 24 cream leather seats arranged in a 2-4-2 layout, provides enhanced comfort with 38-inch pitch and 8-inch recline.

Economy Class has also been upgraded with 256 seats in a soft grey and blue color scheme, featuring fully adjustable leather headrests. Emirates’ signature ghaf tree motif is prominently displayed throughout the cabins.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, emphasized the airline’s commitment to delivering unmatched onboard experiences. "The introduction of our latest Boeing 777 with new signature interiors raises the industry benchmark for premium travel," he said.

The refurbishment was handled by a dedicated team of 175 engineers and technicians from Emirates Engineering in Dubai. The extensive project required significant resources, including 330 square meters of carpets, 340 laminate sheets, and 8,000 square feet of leather for the seats.

In addition to Geneva, the upgraded Boeing 777s will soon serve Tokyo Haneda and Brussels, with more destinations to be announced. The airline has earmarked 191 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft for a full facelift, part of a $3 billion investment to enhance customer experience.

The refurbishment program will result in the installation of 8,104 next-generation Premium Economy seats, 1,894 refreshed First-Class suites, 11,182 upgraded Business Class seats, and 21,814 Economy Class seats across the fleet.

Emirates currently operates its refurbished aircraft to various global destinations, including New York, London, Sydney, and Tokyo, among others.
