Emirates achieved a significant milestone today with the delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft, A6-EXA, marking the addition of a new aircraft type to its fleet for the first time since 2008.
This delivery is the first of 65 A350 aircraft set to join Emirates over the coming years, heralding a new chapter for the airline’s expansion and innovation.
The A350 was officially handed over to Emirates at Airbus’ facility in Toulouse, France, and is scheduled to embark on its ferry flight to Dubai at 4:00 PM local time. Aviation enthusiasts can follow the journey in real time on Flight Radar 24. Upon arrival, the aircraft will undergo final preparations at Emirates Engineering before being unveiled at a special event later this week.
Highlighting its commitment to sustainability, the delivery flight was powered by a blend of jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), reflecting Emirates’ ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.
The A350 will make its commercial debut in January 2025 with an inaugural flight to Edinburgh, Scotland. Following this, the aircraft is slated to serve eight additional destinations across the Middle East, West Asia, and Europe, bolstering Emirates’ global connectivity.
This milestone reaffirms Emirates’ position as a leader in aviation, blending cutting-edge technology with eco-friendly practices to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency.
