Under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the Emirati Women and Future Building Conference today.
The event, held in celebration of Emirati Women's Day, was organized by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in collaboration with the General Women's Union.
The conference highlighted the UAE's commitment to empowering women in all sectors, ensuring their active contribution to the nation's progress. Attendees included prominent figures such as Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment; Alia Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship; and Afra Al Sabri, Director-General of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasized that Emirati Women's Day honors the enduring legacy of H.H. Sheikha Fatima and the remarkable achievements of Emirati women. He praised their determination, intelligence, and contributions to both national and global progress.
During the event, Sheikh Nahyan presented awards to influential Emirati women, including Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Noura Al Suwaidi, and Brigadier Afra Saeed Al Falasi, recognizing their outstanding contributions.
The conference featured discussions on Emirati women's technological advancements and their role in fostering social cohesion through tolerance and coexistence. Dr. Amna Al Dhahak and Alia Al Mazrouei also highlighted the UAE's achievements in gender equality, noting the nation's top regional ranking and its global recognition on the 2024 Gender Equality Index.
This year's conference underscored the vital role of Emirati women in shaping the UAE's future and their capacity to inspire positive change on a global scale.
