Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has garnered four prestigious awards at the International District Energy Association Annual Conference and Exhibition (IDEA2024) held last week in Orlando, USA.
Empower was honored with the ‘Innovation Award Honorable Mention for Integrated Metering Solutions’ and ‘Innovation Award Honorable Mention for Chiller Efficiency Improvement’ at Business Bay 02. Additionally, the company received two IDEA Gold Awards for ‘The Number of Buildings Committed’ and ‘The Total Building Area Committed’.
The conference, organized by the International District Energy Association under the theme “District Energy for Sustainable Cities,” attracted delegations from over 30 countries, including hundreds of experts and specialists in the district cooling industry.
The IDEA acknowledged Empower’s consistent excellence, noting that this year’s gold awards mark the tenth time the company has received these honors, having previously won in 2005, 2007, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Empower has also secured more than 20 various awards and titles in different categories across international conferences and exhibitions.
His Excellency Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, stated,

Bin Shafar highlighted Empower's efforts in transforming the district cooling industry worldwide from its base in Dubai. He emphasized the company’s role in establishing high standards in energy and cost savings, as well as resource and environmental protection.
“This award honors our continuous efforts in promoting the culture of district cooling systems and recognizes our relentless endeavors to harness the technologies of the fourth Industrial Revolution,”
he added.
