Erth Dubai, the cultural and community initiative launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has attracted more than 5,000 participants since its launch in February 2025, creating one of the largest archives of personal stories about life in the emirate.
Citizens and residents have shared accounts through the initiative’s website and digital platforms, contributing memories that reflect Dubai’s traditions, values and growth. Submissions include narratives of maritime life, trade, education and neighbourhood histories, forming a diverse record of the city’s evolution.
The project has generated more than one million social media engagements, with interactive content driving wider public involvement and sparking regional cultural interest.
General Coordinator Ahmed Saeed Al Sharid credited the leadership’s vision, noting the initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to preserving heritage for future generations. He also announced the launch of the Erth Dubai mobile app, allowing contributors to easily upload stories, images and recordings.
As the initiative expands, schools have been engaged through dedicated challenges, encouraging students to document family histories. Organisers continue to invite the public to contribute, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a city that honours its past while shaping its future.
