Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) and the Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) have formalised a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Dubai's export ecosystem and helping local manufacturers break into new international markets.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the 'Make It In The Emirates' 2026 forum held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The agreement aligns with Dubai's D33 Agenda, which targets doubling the size of the emirate's economy over the next decade and securing its place among the world's top three global cities.

Under the MoU, ECI will provide a range of tailored credit insurance solutions to exporters nominated by DEDC through its Export Assistance Programme. These include Whole Turnover Insurance and Single Risk Policies designed to shield businesses from trade-related financial risks.

The partnership also seeks to improve exporters' access to financing by connecting them with ECI's network of partner financial institutions. Insured receivables can be used as collateral, giving businesses a stronger pathway to securing export financing and working capital.

Capacity building forms another key pillar of the collaboration. A series of workshops and training sessions will be rolled out for Export Assistance Programme partners, focusing on credit insurance benefits, non-payment protection, margin optimisation and financing access.

Raja Al Mazrouei, CEO of ECI, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to equipping UAE exporters with the tools and confidence to grow globally. He highlighted the role of credit protection, risk intelligence and access to finance in helping businesses contribute to Dubai's long-term economic vision.

The agreement positions both entities as active enablers of trade expansion, reinforcing the UAE's broader ambition to deepen its footprint in global commerce.
