Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) reinforced the UAE’s strategic trade partnership with China during a high-level delegation visit led by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The visit highlighted growing economic cooperation and showcased ECI’s role in supporting UAE exporters.

The UAE delegation attended the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), the China-UAE Economic & Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference, and AIM China Chapter 2025. ECI presented its trade credit insurance solutions, market intelligence, and risk-mitigation services to delegates and businesses at CIIE, emphasizing its capacity to facilitate secure and informed cross-border trade.

Raja Al Mazrouei, ECI CEO, participated in a panel on ‘Logistics, Trade, and Advanced Manufacturing’ at the China-UAE Economic & Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference. He highlighted the UAE’s position as a gateway for global commerce and outlined ECI’s role in connecting SMEs to over 400 million global companies, supporting them in identifying buyers, suppliers, and new trade opportunities.

Al Mazrouei also addressed evolving trends in trade insurance and export credit, noting their importance in strengthening UAE-China collaboration as businesses increasingly engage in co-manufacturing and industrial projects.

At the AIM Congress China Chapter 2025, he discussed how global capital flows and industrial innovation are reshaping international trade, while emphasizing ECI’s commitment to empowering SMEs, enhancing supply chain resilience, and promoting sustainable trade in line with the UAE 2031 vision, which targets AED 800 billion in non-oil exports.

“SMEs form over 94 percent of UAE enterprises and are vital for employment and economic diversification. Initiatives like Xport Xponential have mobilized AED 174 million in SME funding, attracting venture capital and foreign investment into high-impact sectors,”

Raja said.
