Expand North Star 2024, organized by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, is solidifying Dubai’s status as a global hub for artificial intelligence (AI).
The event, held from October 13-16 at Dubai Harbour, attracted over 400 AI startups, offering a glimpse into AI’s transformative potential across industries.
Dubai's strategic location, advanced tech infrastructure, and business-friendly environment were praised by participating companies as key factors for the city's growing appeal to global AI firms and startups. The event highlighted Dubai's commitment to AI, showcased through initiatives like the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, aimed at fostering economic growth and improving residents’ quality of life.
The AI sector is expected to grow by 14.22% in 2024 and reach a global value of $500 billion by 2028. Expand North Star 2024 provided startups with unparalleled networking opportunities, strengthening Dubai’s role as a gateway for global business expansion.
Notable participants included Diagen AI, a Canadian company specializing in AI-driven drug discovery, and AGCC Korea AI, which views Dubai as a bridge to European markets. Companies like Hippo Video and FuriosaAI praised the event’s scale and global reach, underscoring Dubai’s importance as a destination for AI innovation.
