Expand North Star, the world’s largest event for startups and investors, will celebrate its 10th edition from 12-15 October at Dubai Harbour, highlighting the emirate’s growing role as a global hub for the digital economy.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, the event has expanded dramatically since its launch in 2016. Exhibiting countries grew from 39 in its first year to over 100 in 2024, while participating startups surged from 350 to 1,800, representing 414 percent growth. The number of investors also rose from 150 to 1,200, a 700 percent increase.

Speakers have grown from 25 in 2016 to 650 in the most recent edition, while last year’s event featured 65 unicorn companies with a combined value exceeding US$400 billion.

Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, said,

“Since its inception in 2016, Expand North Star has played a pivotal role in supporting Dubai’s vision of becoming a global centre for innovation and entrepreneurship in advanced technologies.”

This year’s programme will again include the Supernova Challenge, where entrepreneurs compete for up to US$200,000 in funding, alongside sessions covering blockchain, fintech, deep tech, climate tech, AI, and Web3.

The event continues to serve as a platform for connecting global innovators, founders, startups, and investors, strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading destination for digital enterprise.
