Expo City Dubai has earned two prestigious pre-certifications in global sustainability standards, reinforcing its commitment to creating an innovative, people-centric community.
The master plan of this future-forward urban center has been pre-certified Platinum in the LEED Cities and Communities standard and also received pre-certification for the WELL Community standard.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the world’s most widely recognized “green” building rating system, focusing on environmental preservation, economic development, and inclusivity. Expo City Dubai’s Platinum rating places it among the highest achievers in the realm of sustainable cities.
Additionally, Expo City earned pre-certification for WELL Community, a standard that prioritizes health and well-being within the built environment. The city is aiming for WELL Gold certification upon its completion. These achievements make Expo City the first urban center in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to attain this dual recognition, as announced during the Cities in Action Forum held on February 6-7.

“These pre-certifications underscore Expo City’s potential as a thriving community that promotes health, sustainability, and economic opportunity.”
The development will span 3.5 square kilometers in Dubai South, providing world-class connectivity and an efficient layout with green and blue spaces integrated throughout. The project is set to host 35,000 residents and 40,000 professionals, with a focus on sustainable transport, clean energy, and biodiversity preservation.
