What to Expect

Expo 2020 represented the sustainable inventions of different nations around the globe. Expo Dubai City is created from the remenants of the grand Expo 2020 event. There are some remaining Pavillions to be explored, and so many activities to enjoy and future projects to look forward to. The entire goal fo Expo City Dubai is to create a sustainable city, that brings hope and inspiration to other parts of the world of a reality where we can live sustainably without harming our planet. This mesmerising City, brings back a glimpse of hope, by showing us all the utilites that make a safer future possible. If we take a step forward into the right direction.

Women's Pavillion

Located on the Sustainability District. Part of having a better more just world is though comrehending the limitations of our present.

Relearn about the effects of gender imbalance on various societies and understand the numerous achievements that women around the world have accomplished regardless of the gender discrimination they have face.

This Pavilion raises important discussions on supporting women's contributions to create a more just world.

Ticket prices per person is 50 AED. The entry is free of charge for children from to below the age of 12 and for people of determination.

  • Timings: Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm

Vision Pavillion

The Vision Pavilion is located in the Sustainability District, on Ghaf Avenue. The Vision Pavillion takes us back on memory lane to the history of a desert inhabited by nomadic people that turned around through a project of innovative change after the oil boom in the 1960s. It is the incredible story of the U.A.E. and the formation of Dubai's modern City.  

The Vision Pavilion shows the significance of hard work and good leadership by showing the real-life example of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the U.A.E. and the Ruler of Dubai.

Alif - Mobility Pavilion

Located in the Mobility District. Mobility Pavilion concentrates on demonstrating the history of mobility throughout human history. This journey garners an appreciation for mundane things that are taken for granted in the day to day life, like driving in your care to commute by the Dubai metro to work.

The pavilion offers snippets of different time periods that all have one thing in common: innovative inventions that helped various civilisations move forward. There you can check out the achievements of the Arab Civilization at the Emirates Mar Mission.

After delivering into the past and moving to current projects in motion, the Mobility Pavillion will take you into the future on how life can become for people around the world with the Artificial Intelligence changes that can bring the U.A.E. a step further. Individual tickets cost 50 AED. Free of charge for visitors at or under 12 years old and people of determination.

Surreal

In the Jubilee District, Surreal offers an entirely different experience from all the other pavilions. Entry is free of charge.  Surreal at Expo City Dubai offers an open-door experience where speakers boom with music sounds, and the sides of the construction release waves of water that seem to defy gravity.

Along this, hydrogen flames light up, not being affected by the movement of water. The harmonious choreography of the water play and music is all part of creating a successful collaboration between WET Design (who also conceived the Burj Khalifa fountain) and Ramin Djawadi, an award-winning composer for the music in the popular Games of Thrones Television series.

Terra (The Sustainable Pavilion)

Terra, also known as The Sustainable Pavilion, is a pavilion that mainly focuses on the beauty of nature and how it can heal itself through biodegradable energy solutions. The Purpose of Terra is to change our relationship with nature from being wasteful to becoming more collaborative.

The individual entry price is 50 AED per adult person. If you are 12 years old or younger or considered a person of determination, the tickets are free of charge.

Reimburse yourself with nature as you venture through the depths of a forest or explore the marine life far below the surface.  Become enamoured with nature's wild side, and understand ways to protect this beautiful planet that we and many other living creatures call home.

Terra, like some buildings in the Expo Dubai City, is LEED Platinum Certified. As it teaches its visitors, the pavilion generates sustainable electricity and water. The building includes a 120-metre-wide canopy and 18 energy trees that practically generate 4 GWh of alternative energy in a year!

Flagship Pavilions

Some of the nation's Pavilions remained to remind us of the different capabilities of countries around the globe for renovation and sustainability. Here is a list of some of the Pavilions you might be interested in visiting. Each ticket entry costs 20 AED. However, entries are free of charge for 12 years old minors or below and people of determination.

Here are some of the Country's Pavilions you can still explore. The Pavilions under the flagship that you can still visit in Expo City Dubai are Pakistan, India, Morroco, Luxembourg, the UAE and Saudi Arabia Pavilions.

Luxembourg Pavilion

The Luxembourg Pavilion represents the innovative ideas of a small but highly capable country. Mixing sustainable ideas with a love of nature and human connectivity. The Luxembourg pavilion is the only one to have an indoor slide.

The indulgence of the five senses highlights the Expo experience. One of which is the Luxembourg pavilion. Listen to the symphony orchestra, along with the aromatic scent of Luxembourg's woods, and have the courage to slide down the sizeable indoor slide, that holds traditional meaning to the people of Luxembourg.  

India Pavilion

You cannot miss the India Pavilion, as it showcases literature, food, art and culture from around 36 states of India. There you can see a dynamic screen that rotates to select one of the three stories reflecting the ever-changing country's history.

Enter the marvellous Cultural hub inside the Pavilion, which offers culinary from different states.

You might be lucky enough to watch live performances and some of the most iconic Bollywood movies there. Just a glimpse that captures the biggest multi-billion cinematographic industry in the world!

Egypt Pavilion

Come and visit the Egypt Pavilion and delve into the rich history of the Egyptian Empire, the history of the infrastructure and past technologies that give us an idea of today's solutions to future world issues, such as the lack of alimentation due to climate change.  

This Pavilion offers a three- dimensional expreince that serves as a time machine to Egyptian history. Meet the artificial intelligence host Ayda and observe the three antique Pharaoh statues.

  • Timings: opens at 10:00 am and closes at 22:00 pm, on a daily schedule.

Pakistan Pavilion

Located in the  Opportunity district, Pakistan Pavilion offers the history of a nation from 70,000 years ago! Exploring the craftsmanship, traditions and values of a nation that insured many adversities.

There you can understand the country's diverse geography, mouthwatering cuisine and longest surviving civilisation in Asian history.

  • Timings: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, on a daily schedule.

Al WASL Plaza

Al WASL Plaza is located at the heart of Expo Dubai City. The World cup final match was played for all the die-hard football fans to watch.

AL WASL hosted many unforgettable music performances by iconic bands like Cold Play. And once more, AL WASL is hosting the end-of-year winter festivities.  

Entry is completely free of charge for all visitors to enjoy the shape-like dome at the heart of the Dubai Expo City.

Upcoming Exhibits

Opportunity Pavilion will go through some renovations and be known as Expo 2020 Dubai Museum. This will highlight some of the most memorable achievements shared in the Expo 2020 Dubai.  

Winter City 2022

Some current activities include ports-related fun, games, and competitions like Ziplining and ice climbing walls. There are games for the younger ones, like duck fishing and many ball games.

It would not be called Winter City without Christmas. Be more fun and creative with gingerbread decorations and a t-shirt drawing activity. Try and join ornament-making workshops, and take your child to a toy factory that creates teddy bears based on customisable designs.  

While visiting, do not forget to pay a visit to Santa's House and take the opportunity to pose with Santa Clause himself.  

As for snacks, have a minced pie or a warm cup of hot chocolate. There are many more foods and drinks to try out at Winter City, only in Expo City Dubai.

As you are having fun, do not forget all the retail stores that most likely offer excellent presents for your loved ones.

A Sustainable City of the Future

There is so much more to Expo City Dubai than museums and pavilions. You can cycle on the 10-kilometre track or run on a 5-kilometre way. There are also restaurants, supermarkets and retail stores.

The whole purpose of Expo City Dubai is to create an entirely sustainable City. Therefore Expo City will be altogether pedestrian. There won't be any use of cars or fuel-based vehicles.

All the waste and products will be entirely plastic free. And to take it a step further into the future, Expo City Dubai will have more than 1200 LEED-certified buildings.

This title means that buildings in the Expo City will save energy, be water efficient and reduce carbon emissions. All this is immensely significant to save our planet from climate change.

Location

At AL WASL Avenue in South Dubai. To get to Expo City Dubai, take the Public Metro Transport or drive by car. Parking is free for everyone from 08:30 to 23:00 Sunday to Thursday and 08:30 to 01:00 Friday to Saturday. As you enter, there is a sign for parking spots for people of determination.  

Tickets and Prices

The entrance is free of charge. However, to access each pavilion in the Expo Dubai City, you must purchase tickets. There are various deals offered that vary in cost.

  • One-day Attractions Pass: costs AED 120 and offer access to all the flagship pavilions.
