The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) held its inaugural Customer Council meeting, bringing together over 30 representatives from the UAE’s nuclear and radiation sector to discuss ways to enhance service delivery.
The session included licensees from industrial, medical, and other fields, followed by a workshop where attendees presented recommendations to improve FANR’s operations and customer experience.
Christer Viktorsson, FANR’s Director-General, said the meeting underscores the authority’s commitment to service excellence while maintaining its regulatory mandate to protect the public and environment.
FANR oversees more than 3,000 licensees using nuclear and radiation materials, and continues to modernise its smart licensing systems to strengthen regulatory effectiveness, transparency, and efficiency.
The initiative aligns with the UAE Government’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, which seeks to remove unnecessary digital hurdles, streamline approvals, upgrade systems, and integrate artificial intelligence to elevate customer service.
