The Federal Tax Authority has launched the Labaih Initiative, a new programme designed to make tax services more accessible and user friendly for senior citizens across the UAE, reinforcing the Authority’s commitment to inclusive service delivery and social responsibility.
The initiative provides tailored support that allows senior citizens to complete tax applications, requests, and compliance obligations smoothly and accurately, while ensuring full respect for privacy. Services are delivered through the FTA’s Call Centre and Taxpayer Support Centres, which have been enhanced with customised processes to meet the specific needs of this segment.
According to the FTA, Labaih introduces simplified and dedicated pathways that reduce the effort required for senior citizens to navigate tax procedures. These include a Direct Line service, where a specialised team handles queries and follows up on requests, as well as priority access through the Call Centre and Fast-Track services at Taxpayer Support Centres.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the FTA, said the initiative reflects the directives of the UAE’s leadership to provide the highest levels of care and quality of life for senior citizens. He described them as a valued pillar of society and noted that the programme recognises their contributions to the nation’s development.
Additional features include electronic access to documents through the FTA website, reducing the need for in-person visits, and tailored awareness programmes such as workshops and introductory sessions. These efforts aim to enhance tax awareness and help senior citizens understand and apply tax legislation with confidence.
The FTA stated that Labaih aligns with the UAE’s broader vision for social care by promoting dignity, privacy, and ease of access while strengthening voluntary tax compliance.
