The Finland Embassy in the UAE marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Finland with a celebratory event at Bab Al Qasr Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, addressing the gathering, praised the enduring and robust bilateral ties between the two nations, emphasizing their shared commitment to fostering cooperation in trade, culture, and innovation.

The event saw the participation of several high-profile dignitaries, including Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade; Tula Johanna Yrjölä, Finland’s Ambassador to the UAE; and Amna Mahmoud Fikri, UAE’s Ambassador to Finland. Omar Rashid Al Neyadi, Director of the European Affairs Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with ambassadors from Arab and foreign nations, Finnish officials, business leaders, and members of the Finnish community in the UAE, also attended the celebration.

The milestone event underscored the deepening ties between the two countries, highlighting their collaborative achievements over the past five decades. Finland and the UAE continue to strengthen their partnership through mutual respect and shared goals, setting the stage for further cooperation in the years to come.

The evening concluded with an acknowledgment of the strong people-to-people and government-to-government connections that have been pivotal in building this longstanding relationship.
