flydubai Debuts at Bahrain International Airshow 2024
flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, made its debut at the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2024, which began today at the Sakhir Airbase in Manama. The event will run until November 15.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, expressed excitement about the airline's first-time participation, highlighting the significance of the Airshow as a platform to showcase innovations in aviation.
“The Bahrain International Airshow is an important event that highlights the advancements and innovations within the aviation industry in the region. We are excited to be here for the first time, underscoring our commitment to the Bahraini market, which we have proudly served since 2009,”
Al Ghaith said.
A key highlight of flydubai’s participation is the display of its newly retrofitted cabin interior, reflecting the airline's commitment to passenger comfort and modern design. The retrofit programme, which began earlier this year, has already seen 15 Boeing 737-800 aircraft completed. By the end of 2024, two more aircraft will be retrofitted, with up to 20 more set for completion in 2025.
Bahrain remains a crucial market for flydubai, with over 2,800 flights operated between January and October 2024. Since launching services to Bahrain in 2009, flydubai has carried more than four million passengers on the Dubai-Bahrain route. The airline currently operates 31 weekly flights between the two destinations.
