flydubai has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with Boeing for 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and 75 options, marking the airline’s fourth order for the narrow-body jet and reinforcing its long term growth strategy.

The Dubai based carrier said the agreement will help modernise its fleet and support an expanding network that now reaches more than 135 destinations. The airline credits the 737 MAX family’s fuel efficiency, range and reliability for enabling its ongoing route development across regions including Eastern Europe, Africa and Central Asia.

The new commitment allows flydubai to draw on the flexibility of the 737 MAX variants, including the 737 8, 737 9 and 737 10, giving the airline room to scale capacity and replace older aircraft as needed. Flydubai currently operates 96 Boeing 737s, with additional MAX jets already on order.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of flydubai, said the agreement reflects a proactive approach to fleet planning at a time of rising travel demand. He noted that reliable aircraft availability and timely deliveries remain central to the airline’s growth and to Dubai’s broader aviation ambitions, including future plans for Dubai World Central.

Boeing said the decision underscores the 737 MAX family’s value proposition. Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said the airline’s continued trust in the model highlights its versatility and importance to flydubai’s strategic fleet development.

The MoU will be finalised in the coming months and, once completed, will add to the airline’s existing orders as it prepares for the next phase of expansion.
