flydubai has taken a significant step to advance its training ecosystem after signing new agreements with Boeing that introduce enhanced competency based programmes for pilots and maintenance teams across its operations.
The agreements cover comprehensive Competency Based Training and Assessment programmes that aim to improve training outcomes through a focus on performance, data driven scenarios, and tailored learning. The initiative applies to ab initio pilots, crews undergoing initial type rating courses, and maintenance personnel.
Boeing will also provide consulting services to support the rollout of the programmes, ensuring a smooth integration with flydubai’s existing training framework. The carrier says the partnership reinforces its long term strategy to invest in modern training solutions that meet global aviation standards.
Captain Ahmad Bin Huzaim, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations and Crew Training at flydubai, said the airline remains committed to adopting advanced technologies and industry leading services to develop its growing workforce. He noted that the CBTA approach creates a more focused and effective training experience while strengthening safety and operational efficiency.
Flydubai currently employs more than 6,700 people, including over 640 engineers and nearly 1,400 pilots, and operates a fleet of 96 Boeing 737 aircraft. Earlier this year, the airline opened its Flight Training facility and launched its Ab Initio Pilot Training Programme as part of its broader investment in talent development.
Chris Broom, Vice President of Training Solutions at Boeing Global Services, said the new agreements highlight flydubai’s proactive approach to safety and quality by offering extensive training opportunities for its flight and maintenance teams.
