The Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) has officially launched its annual Pink Caravan campaign in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, focusing on the critical need for early detection and health education.

This year’s initiative features the Pink Caravan (PC), which will deploy eight fixed clinics and over 100 mobile clinics across the UAE to provide free breast cancer screenings.

From October 11 to October 30, 2024, PC’s fixed clinics will operate daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM at various locations, including Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, Mushrif Mall in Abu Dhabi, and City Walk in Dubai, among others. Details about the clinic locations can be found on PC’s social media accounts (@pinkcaravan).

The month-long campaign also includes awareness workshops and community activities designed to engage both citizens and residents in the UAE. FOCP encourages corporate involvement by offering companies the opportunity to host mobile clinics for employee screenings or organize ‘Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Days,’ which will feature mammogram screenings and educational sessions.

In a special community event from October 4 to 6 at Aljada, Sharjah, families are invited to enjoy activities promoting early detection and cancer prevention awareness. This event will include sports, games, workshops, and a petting zoo, with a market showcasing healthy products, where a portion of the sales will support FOCP’s mission.

To bolster its efforts, FOCP invites medical professionals to volunteer for the Pink Caravan campaign. Interested individuals can apply via email at info@pinkcaravan.ae. This campaign underscores the importance of community involvement in the fight against breast cancer.
