The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has successfully engaged more than 103,500 participants in its 260 in-person and virtual awareness events from 2023 through the first half of 2024.

Satisfaction rates have also risen, reaching 94% this year, up from 92% in 2023 and 88% in 2022.

In a recent statement, the FTA highlighted a significant increase in participation during H1 2024, with over 30,500 attendees across 70 events—a 61% rise from the 19,000 participants in the same period last year. Notably, in-person events saw around 3,000 participants, while nearly 27,600 joined virtually, reflecting a growing preference for digital engagement.

Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the FTA, emphasized the Authority’s commitment to diversifying its outreach efforts to better serve the business community. He noted that these initiatives align with the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, which aims to streamline government processes and enhance service efficiency.

In H1 2024, key initiatives included Registration Culture Workshops, which attracted 641 participants, and Corporate Tax workshops, which saw 8,220 attendees. Additional campaigns focused on areas such as Tax Residency Certificates, VAT recovery for new homeowners, and tax violations education.

The FTA continues to prioritize digital transformation and sustainability, aiming to reduce paper usage and streamline procedures. This focus is part of the Authority’s broader strategy to support the UAE’s evolving tax environment and meet the needs of businesses across all emirates.
