The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has issued an urgent call for Resident Juridical Persons with licences issued in July, regardless of the year, to complete their Corporate Tax registration by 30th September 2024.

Failure to meet this deadline could result in administrative penalties.

In a press release, the FTA emphasized the importance of adhering to the timelines specified in FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024. This decision, aligned with Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 on Corporate Taxation, took effect on 1st March 2024 and outlines registration deadlines for various taxable persons.

The FTA highlighted that penalties will be enforced under Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023 for those who fail to register within the stipulated timeframes. The FTA’s guidelines apply to both juridical and natural persons, including non-residents, with deadlines based on the month of licence issuance.

The registration process is streamlined through the EmaraTax digital tax services platform, accessible 24/7. The platform simplifies the procedure into four main steps, taking approximately 30 minutes to complete. Additionally, those already registered for VAT or Excise Tax can easily access and complete their Corporate Tax registration via the platform.

The FTA urged those yet to register to do so promptly through EmaraTax or authorised tax agents, available across various government service centres. Taxable persons are also encouraged to review the Corporate Tax Law and related guidelines on the FTA website to ensure compliance.
