FTA Urges Prompt Corporate Tax Registration for October and November Licence Holders
Ad

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has called on Resident Juridical Persons with licences issued in October and November—regardless of the year—to submit their Corporate Tax registration applications by the deadline of 30 November 2024.

This directive follows FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024, issued under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022, which sets registration timelines for different categories of Taxable Persons.

Failure to comply may result in administrative penalties under Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023, applicable to both Resident and Non-Resident Juridical Persons, as well as Natural Persons. Importantly, entities holding multiple licences as of 1 March 2024 must register based on the earliest issued licence, even if some licences have since expired.

The registration process can be completed via the FTA’s EmaraTax platform, accessible 24/7, which allows users to register for Corporate Tax in approximately 30 minutes. Existing VAT or Excise Tax registrants can directly access their accounts on EmaraTax, while new users need to create a username using their email and mobile number.

Taxable Persons can also register with the assistance of authorised Tax Agents or through government service centres across the UAE. The FTA encourages all Taxable Persons to review the relevant Corporate Tax Law and guidelines available on the FTA’s website at tax.gov.ae.
