The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has issued a reminder to Resident Juridical Persons with licences issued in May, irrespective of the issuance year, to submit their Corporate Tax registration applications by 31st July 2024.

This directive is in accordance with the timelines set forth in Federal Tax Authority Decision No. 3 of 2024, which pertains to the registration of taxable persons for Corporate Tax under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 on the Taxation of Corporations and Businesses. The law took effect on 1st March 2024.

The FTA has emphasized the importance of adhering to these registration deadlines to avoid Administrative Penalties. These deadlines were disseminated through various media platforms, including print, visual, and audio media, as well as the FTA's social media channels and direct outreach to registered company owners in the UAE.

The deadlines for Corporate Tax registration applications apply to both juridical and natural persons, encompassing Resident and Non-Resident Persons. Detailed deadlines and relevant information can be found on the FTA’s official website.

According to the FTA’s Public Clarification, any Resident Juridical Person established before 1st March 2024 must submit their tax registration applications based on their Licence issuance month. For juridical persons with expired licences on 1st March 2024, the application should be based on the original issuance month. If multiple licences are held, the earliest issuance date applies.

To streamline the registration process, taxpayers must use the “EmaraTax” digital platform, which operates 24/7, allowing for easy creation of user profiles and tax registration numbers. Additionally, support is available through accredited tax agents and government service centers.

The FTA also highlights the necessity of providing accurate information and supporting documents during registration, such as commercial licences, Emirates ID cards, passports, and proof of authorisation for the signatory. A detailed video guide on the registration process is available on the FTA’s website.
