The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is reminding Resident Juridical Persons that are subject to Corporate Tax with Licences issued in March and April, irrespective of the year of issuance, to promptly submit their Tax Registration application for Corporate Tax no later than 30th June 2024, in order to avoid Administrative Penalties.

The FTA urges Corporate Taxable Persons to comply with FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024 on registration timelines. Failure to register within deadlines incurs an AED10,000 penalty, as per Federal Decree Law No. 47 of 2022 on Corporate and Business Taxation.

In a press statement issued today,The FTA advised taxpayers to follow timelines in FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024 effective from March 1, 2024. It specifies when Corporate Tax registration applications must be submitted for all Resident and Non-Resident Juridical and Natural Persons, urging understanding of their Public Clarification for exemptions under Corporate Tax Law.

Juridical persons in the UAE must apply for Corporate Tax Registration based on their Licence issuance date before March 1, 2024. If a Licence is expired by this date, the original issuance month still applies. For those with multiple Licences, the earliest issuance date determines the deadline. Entities established after March 1, 2024, must apply within three months of incorporation, establishment, or recognition.

The FTA introduced Corporate Tax registration via the "EmaraTax" platform, accessible 24/7. Registration involves creating an account, submitting documents, and receiving approval, typically taking 30 minutes. Alternately, registration is available through authorized tax agents and government service centers across the UAE, ensuring accessible and compliant tax services.

The Federal Tax Authority urges Taxable Persons subject to Corporate Tax to examine the Corporate Tax Law, as well as all the Public Clarification regarding the specified timelines for Corporate Tax registration, and related guidelines and executive decisions, which are available on the FTA official website.
