The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has called on all natural persons subject to Corporate Tax to complete their tax registration by March 31, 2025, to avoid a AED10,000 administrative penalty.

The FTA clarified that a "natural person" refers to any living individual, whether residing in the UAE or abroad, who conducts a business or business activity in the UAE. This includes sole establishments and partners in unincorporated partnerships operating within the country.

According to the FTA, natural persons are taxable if their business turnover exceeds AED1 million in a calendar year, starting with the 2024 tax period. For instance, if a person’s revenue surpasses AED1 million by July 31, 2024, they must register for Corporate Tax by March 31, 2025, and file their tax return by September 30, 2025.

To streamline the process, the FTA has introduced multiple registration channels, including the EmaraTax platform, which offers 24/7 services with detailed guidance. VAT and Excise Tax registrants can access their existing accounts to register for Corporate Tax, while new users can create accounts using their email and phone number. Registration is also available at Tas’heel Centres across the UAE.

The FTA has published guides like the "CTGRNP1" and the Corporate Tax Registration - Taxpayer User Manual to assist individuals in understanding their obligations and navigating the registration process.

For further details, individuals are encouraged to visit the FTA website, which provides comprehensive information on Corporate Tax laws and related resources.
