The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has issued a reminder for Resident Juridical Persons with licenses issued in October and November to submit their Corporate Tax registration applications by 30th November 2024, to avoid administrative penalties.
This call follows FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024, which outlines the deadlines for various categories of Taxable Persons to register for Corporate Tax under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022. The law, effective since 1st March 2024, mandates that businesses and corporations comply with registration requirements based on their license issuance dates.
The FTA emphasized that penalties will be imposed on those who fail to meet the registration deadline, as outlined in Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023. For businesses with multiple licenses, the earliest license issuance date will determine the registration deadline. In cases where a license has expired by 1st March 2024, the original issuance date will still apply.
Corporate Tax registration is available through the EmaraTax digital platform, which operates 24/7 and simplifies the registration process into four steps. Taxable Persons can complete registration in approximately 30 minutes and receive their Tax Registration Number upon approval. Alternatively, registration can be completed through authorized Tax Agents or government service centers.
The FTA also urged businesses to review the Corporate Tax Law, related decisions, and guidelines available on the FTA website to ensure full compliance.
