The UAE will host the 4th ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) in 2025.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) during the ICAO First Advanced Air Mobility Symposium AAM 2024, in Montreal.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, and Juan Carlos Salazar, the Secretary General of the ICAO signed the MoU.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi emphasised the UAE's commitment to fostering international cooperation in civil aviation under ICAO, aiming for growth and sustainability. He noted that the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium serves as a key platform for aligning efforts to enhance safety and security in aviation.

“The UAE’s role in hosting this event highlights its esteemed status in the global aviation sector,"

he said.

The signing comes after ICAO selected the UAE at the 3rd Global Aviation Summit in May 2024. GISS 2025 will take place in Abu Dhabi, uniting global aviation leaders to further ICAO’s goals in safety, security, and sustainability.
