The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has unveiled a series of artificial intelligence-driven projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and service quality across the civil aviation sector.

The announcement was made at the UAE Pavilion during the exhibition held alongside the ICAO 42nd Assembly in Montreal.

The projects, developed under the GCAA’s Artificial Intelligence Lab, were introduced in the presence of Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the GCAA, and Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Authority’s Director-General. Senior officials and members of the UAE delegation also attended the launch.

Among the new initiatives is ASK GCAA (AI), a smart platform offering advanced file search, AI-driven assistance, and improved thread tracking. Its related services include ASK GCAA (AIP), a chatbot supporting aeronautical data queries, and ASK GCAA (HR Assistant), which simplifies HR processes and improves employee accessibility. Another project, Working Paper Automation, uses AI to ensure the accuracy and clarity of official documents, while Ontime integrates chatbots with internal systems to provide detailed attendance reports and real-time support.

The GCAA said the initiatives align with its ongoing digital transformation efforts, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence in building smarter, more efficient aviation services. The projects are expected to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global leader in aviation innovation and regulatory excellence.
