GCC Pavilion at COP28 Hosts 25 Events

The pavilion of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), being in Dubai, hosted over 25 events, including sessions, seminars and workshops, with the participation of delegations from the GCC countries and experts and specialists from around the world.

In a statement, Mohammed bin Falah Al Rashidi, Director of Energy at the GCC Secretariat-General and Director of the GCC Pavilion at COP28, said that the activities addressed several issues affected by climate change, including health, agriculture, energy, green education, marine and wildlife environment, youth, women, water treatment and food.

He added that the GCC Secretariat's pavilion aims to highlight the vision of the GCC countries to address climate challenges and their future initiatives and projects, as well as showcase their visions to achieve climate neutrality.

He stressed that the GCC countries continue their journey in increasing the percentage of renewable energy through their flexible strategic plans to adopt advanced renewable energy technologies in several sectors, most notably solar and wind energy generation, green buildings, and the circular economy.
