Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, in partnership with the Dubai Media Council, will host the 'Dubai Rising: Building Tomorrow’s Global Business Capital' conference at the Museum of the Future on Friday, 14 February.
The event will bring together global officials, business leaders, media professionals, and academic scholars from both the United States and the UAE to discuss Dubai’s strategic vision for becoming a global business hub.
Aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the conference will explore Dubai's commitment to sustainable economic growth and its goal to rank among the world’s top three business hubs. Keynote addresses will include Mohammad Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, who will outline the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double Dubai’s GDP by 2033. His Excellency Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar Properties, will deliver the closing remarks.
The event will feature six discussion panels, covering topics such as urban development, infrastructure investment, creative economy, and the role of technology in business. A special focus will be on artificial intelligence, fintech, and digital transformation, with insights on how these innovations are reshaping finance, logistics, and governance sectors.
Nehal Badri, Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized the conference’s role in fostering global dialogue to support Dubai’s ambitions as a center for creativity, talent, and technological advancement. Georgetown University’s Dean, Paul Almeida, also praised the collaboration, stating it offers an opportunity for strategic insights to shape Dubai’s future trajectory as a global business powerhouse.
