World-renowned fun run series, The Music Run, is set to make its debut in Dubai this November, bringing its high-octane blend of music, fitness, and entertainment to the iconic Meydan Racecourse. As part of the Dubai T100 Triathlon event weekend - which is the seventh leg on the new T100 Triathlon World Tour, The Music Run will take place on Saturday 16 November 2024, promising a fun-filled, accessible experience for participants of all ages and abilities.

The Music Run has become a global phenomenon since its inception, captivating fitness enthusiasts and music lovers with its unique concept. Unlike a typical fun run, The Music Run features a 5km course lined with speakers pumping out a curated playlist, creating a vibrant atmosphere from start to finish. The event culminates in a high-energy music festival experience which will be headlined by leading, local DJs.

The event’s Dubai edition will be held at the iconic Meydan Racecourse, famous for the renowned Dubai World Cup, and offers a picturesque backdrop for runners and spectators alike. This marks the first time The Music Run will be hosted in the Middle East, following successful editions across the globe including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Africa, Thailand and the Philippines. The Dubai event is expected to draw more than 10,000 participants, from seasoned runners to casual walkers to mums and dads pushing strollers, all eager to experience this one-of-a-kind event.

The inclusion of The Music Run in the Dubai T100 Triathlon weekend (15th - 17th November) ensures that there is something for everyone at this prestigious event. While within the Dubai T100 Triathlon professional triathletes will compete for a share of the $250,000 prize purse – with multiple Olympic and World Champions expected to toe the line – The Music Run provides a more relaxed and enjoyable option for those who are looking to participate in a high-energy, music-filled experience rather than a competitive race. Tickets go on sale at 13:00 today [Thursday 5 September] from AED 89 at https://themusicrun.ae/.

The Dubai T100 Triathlon weekend will also cater to serious age-group triathletes aiming for personal bests in the unique 100km format (2km open-water swim, 80km bike and a 18km run to the finish line), as well as those trying the sport of triathlon for the first time who have the option to register for the shorter Sprint distance category (750m swim, 20km bike & 5km run). The entire weekend will be topped off with a jam-packed event village and festival area, complete with food trucks, entertainment, and interactive activities, making it an ideal outing for families, friends, and anyone looking to enjoy a festive atmosphere.

The Dubai T100 Triathlon and The Music Run are integral components of the month-long 2024 Dubai Fitness Challenge, a city-wide initiative that challenges residents and tourists to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days, to help kick-start long-term healthy habits. The Dubai Fitness Challenge has become a significant part of the city’s fitness culture, and a gateway to a more active, fitter future, inspiring thousands to take up new activities, improve their health, and connect with others through shared fitness goals. By incorporating The Music Run into this initiative, the organisers aim to provide another fun and engaging way for participants to meet their daily exercise goals while enjoying the vibrant energy of Dubai’s fitness community.

Driven by the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, Dubai Fitness Challenge is more than just a fitness initiative,

commented Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE).

It is a call to integrate physical activity into everyday life, with benefits extending well beyond the event for a sustained, healthier lifestyle. This year, in alignment with His Highness's vision to transform Dubai into one of the world’s most active cities and solidify its status as a top wellness destination, we are collaborating with global partners to deliver world-leading experiences. The Dubai T100 Triathlon weekend exemplifies this ambition. Additionally, we're eager to see how The Music Run, one of the event’s key highlights, will motivate participants to achieve their 30x30 goals and adopt a more active, healthier lifestyle.

Sam Renouf, CEO of the PTO – organisers of the global T100 Triathlon World Tour added:

The addition of The Music Run to the T100 weekend schedule is a testament to the city’s growing reputation as a hub for world-class sporting and entertainment events. With its diverse population and love for innovation, Dubai is the perfect location for The Music Run’s regional debut, and the event is set to be a highlight of the Dubai T100 Triathlon weekend. Whatever your age or fitness level – I encourage you to gather your friends and join the run party this November.
