Dubai is hosting GITEX GLOBAL 2025 from 13 to 17 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together global leaders to explore the shift from early AI adoption to fully integrated AI-native societies.
The event arrives as countries worldwide seek to harness computing power, data, and governance for economic and societal transformation.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman made his debut at the event, joining G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao in a landmark virtual discussion on advancing AI integration. Their session highlighted strategies for moving beyond experimentation to nation-scale intelligence, setting the stage for AI-driven societies.
The GITEX & G42 AI-Native Societies Programme explored infrastructure and strategic partnerships, including the UAE-US 5GW AI Campus, the largest AI facility outside the US. Leaders from Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Khazna Data Centres, Cerebras, and OpenAI examined global intelligence grids and national AI deployments.
Government and industry representatives, including TAMM, Presight, and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, shared insights on operationalising AI across public services, industry, and education. High-level panels featured ministers and policymakers from over 180 countries, addressing AI geopolitics, investment trends, quantum technologies, and cyber resilience.
Investment discussions highlighted a projected $375 billion in AI funding this year, with experts debating the geoeconomics of capital as a tool for technological power. National strategies were showcased by UAE’s Mubadala and global companies including Siemens, IBM, and Qualcomm, emphasizing AI’s role in competitiveness, workforce development, and sustainable growth.
Cybersecurity also featured prominently, with Generative AI enabling advanced attacks. UAE and international leaders outlined frameworks to protect digital infrastructure and public services, reinforcing the global imperative of secure AI deployment.
With over 6,800 tech companies, 2,000 startups, and 1,200 investors participating, GITEX GLOBAL 2025 underscores Dubai’s emergence as a hub for AI innovation and strategic dialogue on the future of intelligence.
