Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, preparations are underway to relocate GITEX Global and Expand North Star to Expo City Dubai.
The move marks a major milestone for the world-renowned technology exhibition, which will take place from December 7 to 11, 2026.
The relocation signals a new chapter in GITEX’s 45-year journey, aligning with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 to position the city among the world’s top three urban economies. The 2026 edition will debut “TechCation” — the world’s first large-scale fusion of technology and lifestyle experiences designed to transform Dubai into a live, connected tech hub.
By shifting to December, GITEX strategically aligns with Dubai’s peak tourism season, offering global executives and investors an immersive experience that blends business, innovation, and the city’s vibrant social calendar. The new format will also feature the GITEX Scale Summit, a day dedicated to high-level dialogue on emerging trends shaping global AI economies.
The Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City is undergoing a US$2.7 billion expansion to host the event, making it the largest purpose-built indoor venue in the region. The enhanced setting is expected to attract a globally mobile talent pool, further strengthening Dubai’s reputation as a hub for innovation, investment, and entrepreneurship.
With GITEX TechCation, Dubai reaffirms its role as the meeting point for technology, capital, and creativity — a city where the world comes to connect, create, and shape the future.
