Big 5 Global opened today at the Dubai World Trade Centre with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability and talent development, setting the tone for one of the construction industry’s most anticipated annual events.

Organised by dmg events, the 2025 edition is built around four pillars that aim to strengthen supply chain resilience, advance technology, support sustainable construction and empower industry talent. Senior Vice President for Construction at dmg events, Josine Heijmans, said the show’s expanded scope reflects the sector’s fast-moving priorities.

A major highlight this year is the debut of a Chinese pavilion spanning more than 1,000 square metres and built entirely from recyclable materials. The pavilion underlines the event’s sustainability push and showcases China’s growing role in global construction innovation.

The exhibition also introduces HVACR World, a dedicated platform for the latest cooling and air-conditioning technologies, and expands its Digital Construction section that features artificial intelligence tools, 3D printing solutions and advanced project management systems.

Knowledge sharing remains central to the event with 13 learning tracks, including new sessions on AI applications and sustainability practices. The Trade Connections Breakfast returns to help international suppliers connect with local buyers and strengthen cross-border industry collaboration.

Start-ups gain a larger stage through the Start-Up City zone, which gathers innovators in construction tech, urban solutions and climate resilience. Entrepreneurs also have the chance to participate in a pitch competition designed to boost their global visibility.

Sustainability threads through every part of the event, from the Big 5 Impact Trail showcasing eco-friendly materials to discussions at the Livable Cities Summit, where experts explore strategies for building more resilient, people-focused urban environments.
