Expand North Star 2024, held at Dubai Harbour from October 13-16, has become a premier platform for startups to unveil revolutionary smart technologies, many of which are making their global debut.
Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, the event underscores Dubai's growing status as a hub for cutting-edge innovations.
The exhibition featured groundbreaking solutions across various sectors, from sustainable water generation to advanced aviation propulsion and electric vehicle (EV) charging. Startups from around the globe gathered to present innovations poised to shape the global digital economy.
Austrian startup CycloTech introduced a revolutionary propulsion system for flying cars, offering unprecedented agility in urban air mobility. Ramy Korkis Kanaan, Flight Test Engineer at CycloTech, emphasized Dubai’s strategic appeal, saying,
“Dubai is a hub for future technologies and has been an incredible opportunity to connect with potential partners.”
Beijing Sebo, a Chinese company, showcased a hands-free mobile EV charging solution, with self-driving equipment arriving at users' locations upon request. Lin Lin, General Manager of Overseas Business, highlighted Dubai's growing EV market, stating,
“Dubai’s focus on sustainability makes it ideal for expanding our services.”
UAE-based Mahwa unveiled atmospheric water generation technology, producing drinking water from air, addressing water scarcity issues. Japanese startup Holoeyes presented its cloud-based medical visualisation tools, improving surgical planning and knowledge sharing.
With its vast array of technological breakthroughs, Expand North Star 2024 strengthens Dubai's position as a global leader in innovation and technology, offering a vibrant ecosystem for emerging startups.
