The Organising Committee of the Gov Games has signed sponsorship agreements with four national institutions including the First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Dubai Festival City, Home Bakery, and Al Fares International Tents to support the fifth edition of the high-energy team-building challenge.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the 2024 Gov Games take place from 29 February to 3 March. The initiative was launched in 2018 and has since become one of Dubai’s major team sports events, testing the physical and mental abilities of government employees and other participants from around the world.

The 2024 Gov Games, proudly presented by official partner DP World and golden sponsors Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) and Damac Properties, is poised to mark a significant milestone in its remarkable journey.

Marwan bin Essa, Director of Gov Games, said,

“The Gov Games bring together hundreds of teams who take on physical and mental challenges in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The courses are designed to bring out the best in all the competitors regardless of their ability and ultimately everyone is pushed to their limits.

“Thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan’s support, the Gov Games have become an integral part of Dubai’s sports calendar. The games are a great demonstration of how fitness, sports and teamwork are embedded in life in Dubai.”

Tracy Faulkner, FAB Group Chief Communications and External Relations Officer from First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), said,

FAB recognises the benefits of leading an active and healthy lifestyle, and of always testing ourselves to achieve more. Through pushing participants to their limits, the games inspire people to redefine ‘impossible’ and turn challenges into opportunities.”

Hayssam Hajjar, Director Asset Management UAE, Al-Futtaim Real Estate from Dubai Festival City, stated,

"At Dubai Festival City, we are committed to creating exceptional experiences for our guests. This collaboration is testament to the city’s role as a hub that not only serves as a community destination but is contributing to transforming Dubai into one of the most vibrant and active cities in the world.”

Abdullah Al Mulla, Co-Founder of Home Bakery, commented,

“We are very pleased to sponsor the Gov Games under our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles within the community. Over the years, this initiative has evolved, gaining significant regional and international attention. We are proud to be part of the success and expansion of this exceptional event.”

Anas Tash, Project Manager from Al Fares International Tents, added,

In doing so, it flies the flag for teamwork, perseverance, and overcoming challenges through collaboration. These are all values that resonate with our corporate vision.”

This year, Gov Games will introduce a new category, welcoming junior participants aged 10 to 13. The aim is to instil strategic thinking, teamwork, and mental and physical strength among youth. Participants will undergo an enriching experience that strengthens their character and motivates them to self-improve.

The previous four editions of Gov Games were runaway successes, with participations from local and federal government entities and teams representing communities and international cities.
