The Nusuk Wallet employs cutting-edge technologies and advanced encryption methods to guarantee top-tier security for its users.
On Monday, June 2, Saudi authorities launched the "Nusuk Wallet," the first international digital wallet designed specifically for Umrah and Haj pilgrims. This innovative digital wallet, announced by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), facilitates the management of money and expenses for pilgrims, supported by a robust banking infrastructure.
Nusuk Wallet employs cutting-edge technologies and advanced encryption techniques to ensure the highest security standards for its users. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU) partnered with the Saudi National Bank (SNB AlAhli) to bring this program to fruition.
In a related initiative, the Saudi Ministry of Interior launched a digital identity service in May 2024 for pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom on Haj visas. This service aligns with the government's commitment to digital transformation and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Additionally, in September 2022, Saudi Arabia introduced "Nusuk.sa," a unified government platform that streamlines the arrival procedures for pilgrims worldwide. Part of the Pilgrim Experience Programme, Nusuk.sa serves as a new gateway to Makkah and Madinah.
Strict rules are in place for Haj this season. Starting June 2 and lasting until June 20, authorities will impose a fine of 10,000 Saudi Riyal (approximately Dh9,000) on citizens, residents, and visitors performing Haj without a permit.
