Dubai has taken a significant leap in its digital transformation journey as H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, approved a comprehensive package of artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives aimed at accelerating the adoption of future technologies across key sectors.
The approvals came during the second 2025 meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy, where Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed progress on major projects launched over the past months.
Key initiatives include the launch of the AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform, which provides government entities with a secure, integrated environment to deploy AI solutions efficiently while ensuring cybersecurity and operational excellence. The Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce was also established to strengthen collaboration among government entities and fast-track the adoption of AI across strategic sectors.
In addition, Sheikh Hamdan approved the Unicorn 30 Programme, designed to support 30 emerging startups in becoming global unicorns. Developed under Dubai Founders HQ with the participation of 80 local and international companies, the programme aims to boost entrepreneurship and strengthen Dubai’s digital economy ecosystem.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai’s growth as a global hub for innovation relies on integration, collaboration, and a unified digital ecosystem. He highlighted the city’s commitment to achieving its vision of being the world’s fastest, smartest, and most prepared city for future technologies, guided by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The committee also reviewed plans for GITEX Global 2026, which will relocate to Expo City Dubai and expand its scale and scope, offering a more advanced, sustainable, and globally engaging platform for technology and innovation.
The meeting included senior officials such as Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Helal Saeed Almarri, Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, and Khalfan Belhoul, reflecting Dubai’s continued commitment to a knowledge-driven, innovation-led economy.
