H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved a new package of strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening social development and improving the quality of life for Emirati citizens in Dubai.
The measures align with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and were endorsed during the first 2026 meeting of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs.
The initiatives include the second phase of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, which focuses on supporting the stability and growth of Emirati families. A subcommittee will oversee the programme’s projects, which include initiatives designed to strengthen family wellbeing. Under the Dubai Weddings Programme, 1,077 weddings have been organised so far, accounting for 43.5 percent of citizen weddings in Dubai and marking a 44 percent increase.
Sheikh Hamdan also approved the Vibrant Dubai initiative, a health and fitness programme designed for Dubai Government employees. The programme will offer medical screenings, physical fitness assessments and psychological readiness evaluations to promote healthier workplaces.
Efforts to strengthen community ties were expanded through the next phases of the Community Majalis Project. Four new majalis will open in Nad Al Sheba, Al Awir, Al Warqa and Al Barsha South, while a third phase will add five more locations including Jumeirah and Al Twar. The AED160 million project is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2027.
Sheikh Hamdan also approved the launch of Barzat Dubai, a new model for neighbourhood gathering spaces designed to encourage engagement among residents.
The initiatives reflect the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which places strong families and connected communities at the centre of Dubai’s long term development.
